what is eco-friendly? and how can become more eco friendly?
Replies...
I guess things like renewable energy such as solar panels and the like. However getting things like that put in costs so much you may not actually make any savings at all.
A lot of things are very simple eco friendly changes for instance it takes more energy to power an empty fridge than a full one so pack it with bottles of water!!! Not only do you get a cool drink in the summer you get to save energy.
Things like not driving with the windows up or putting less things in the car because it takes up more petrol or driving slower infact don’t drive at all or much much less!
INSULATE YOUR ATTIC OR WALLS , DOUBLE GLAZING, USE BLANKETS INSTEAD OF PUTTING THE HEATING ON, CLOSE YOUR CURTAINS AT DUSK TO KEEP IN THE HEAT , RECYCLE THE POSSIBLITIES ARE ENDLESS!!!
IF YOU WANT MORE TIPS TYPE IN WAYS TO REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT AND GET SOME TIPS THERE , HOPE THIS HELPS :)
the gov will cover the cost of fitting things like solar panels to your home, so you will make a good saving, plus in the future if you put more energy in the grid than you use you will actually make money off it.
Bottled water is actually far from eco-friendly, it is a drain on fresh water supplies, produces mass’s of co2 transporting it, and fills landfills with bottles or use’s energy being recycled. Also it doesnt have the same rules with reguards to filtering as tap water, so is often not as good for you. Sticking with tap water is the best option all round
Red meat and buying locally grown food (organic included) are all ways to be more eco-friendly.
Car sharing, using more public transport, cycling, walking and switching to bio-fuels are also positive changes to your lifestyle to be ‘nicer to the environment’.
Simple ways to make your house more energy efficient is to install double glazing, loft insulation and door stoppers which reduces the distance cold air can travel around the house, keeping rooms warmer.
When I think of eco-friendly I think of a mind set, you have to be willing to change and be more aware of the world around you and the consequences of your actions. It’s quite difficult to define exactly what it is but surely I think it has to be something positive.
by becoming a vegetarian or vegan the most eco-friendly thing to do the amount of benefits to the anvironment the animals not to mention your health from having a vegan diet and lifestyle are endless.
