Food

I know most food isn’t available as fairtrade, but if you buy a lot of coffee, or chocolate then buy fairtrade. A lot of people in less economically developed countries put in a lot of hard work harvesting all of the cocoa and coffee beans and tea leaves etc to get you what you see on supermarket shelves. When you buy something without a fairtrade label on it almost all of the money goes to a company in richer countries, like the UK and USA and less than 1% is given as wages to those who get your food in the first place. With a fairtrade label on the produce then the workers get paid a more reasonable wage for the amount of effort they put in.

Don’t forget clothes! People tree has a lovely collection, for no more than the expensive designer brands. It’s all sustainable too, and they mostly use organic cotton etc. Check them out!
